Richard A. "Rick" Harrison - President

Rick graduated from the University of Maryland in 1988, earning a B.S. in Finance. After a brief stint as a bank portfolio trader, Rick decided that he far preferred the person-to-person contact afforded by sales. He more or less stumbled into the world of contract staffing and found it both challenging and rewarding. But Rick is also an entrepreneur and, after working for two large consulting companies, he decided to strike out on his own launching EDGE in January 1997. Although Rick is in charge of turning the EDGE vision into reality, he is still very much involved in the company's day-to-day sales and marketing, because people-to-people activity is still what he enjoys most. But he's no one to shirk the responsibilities of being President. He knows full well that, to have a successful people-to-people company, he needs to keep all his clients happy: those on the corporate side, those on the consultant side, and, of course, those on the inside.

 

Blaine W. Smith – Executive Vice President

Blaine joined EDGE in April 2008 as its Executive Vice President.  Blaine oversees Sales and Recruiting, Business Planning, and Client Development in support of EDGE’s service divisions:  Commercial, Financial, and Government. Blaine has over 20 years experience in sales with over 12 years focused in the IT and professional services industry.  Tasked with developing emerging markets, creating organic growth, and delivering solutions to our existing customers, Blaine relies on what he is most passionate about; genuine development of people and their careers.  Mr. Smith previously spent 10 years working for a national IT staffing and solutions firm, with his last position as Managing Director of three branch offices.  Blaine holds a bachelor's in economics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).
