Introducing the RA-2TBi-directional Repeater Adaptor.
This handy device cross-connects (2) MOTOTRBO mobile radios back to back.
It may be easily user-configured for either of two modes:
Mode 1: Bi-directional = Signals received on Radio A are retransmitted by Radio B and vice versa (program pin 21 for RX channel activity detect on both radios). This mode is useful for linking two groups of users on different frequency bands (i.e.: VHF to UHF).
Mode 2: Uni-directional = Signals received on Radio A are repeated by Radio B and not vice versa (program pin 21 for RX channel activity detect on one radio only).
APPLICATION NOTES
RA-2T is intended primarily for cross-band linking. It deploys very easily when connected to two radios operating in different frequency bands (i.e.: VHF & UHF) to link two groups of MOTOTRBO users.
In such (cross-band) deployments, antenna system changes (physical separation, cavity filters, etc) are typically not required.
If desired, RA-2T can be used in-band if consideration is given to the antenna system (adequate RF isolation between the two connected radios must be maintained to avoid receiver desensitization).
